Tara O Design, LLC is owned and operated by me, Tara Smythe Olivier, a Louisiana Registered Interior Designer (#1252).  I have over 20 years of experience in the industry, beginning with a Bachelor of Interior Design from the University of Louisiana (Geaux Cajuns!).

For as long as I can remember, I've been obsessed with houses. No matter what style or condition, I can see the possibilities of what could be. Being that I can't build or design millions of homes for myself, I decided to study to become a designer and live vicariously through my clients!

The term "design on a dime" is already taken, but that's my exact design philosophy. To put it lightly, I personally don't like to spend a lot of money on anything.  So I try my best to do the same in my business.  I feel there's no reason to spend $60 per square foot for backsplash tile if I can find an equally fabulous one for $30 a square. I can make a tight budget project look like a million bucks! 

When I'm not designing for clients (or for myself, because my home will always be my favorite project!), I'm usually spending my time with my husband and two kiddos.
